Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialists

Compassion involves a personalized, caring approach as our Doctor and staff care for each individual patient. We strive to listen to each individual’s needs and concerns so that we can tailor treatment to address those specific concerns.

Professionalism involves an approach to patient care that assures each individual is treated with the utmost respect. It involves providing consistent care from the moment you contact our office until you are released from our care. This may involve following up on a laboratory result or working with the patient to make sure that they receive maximum benefit from their insurance coverage.

Competence is the foundation of care provided to our patients. Many professionals provide treatment with introductory training and experience. We at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialists feel that our patients deserve better. We have trained with many of the leading specialists in the various fields involved in our patients' treatment. We feel that exceptional care also involves obtaining the clinical experience to recognize and avoid many of the complications related to oral surgical care. If a complication does occur, we have taken the extra steps to have the expertise to properly treat each individual to assure that the patient receives a good result from their treatment.

What is Maxillofacial Surgery?

Oral and maxillofacial surgery encompasses the art and science of diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries, deformities, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial area. The word “maxillofacial” refers to the jaws and face.

What does it mean to be Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?

Your board-certified surgeon has graduated from an accredited dental school and is licensed in the state where he practices. In addition, he has completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program approved by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation. During this residency, the surgeon received specialized training in the discipline of oral and maxillofacial surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, cardiology, medicine, anesthesiology, and pathology.

Your board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon was required to pass both a thorough written qualifying examination and a rigorous oral certifying examination to be certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The Board encourages its diplomates to continue their professional development by ongoing continuing education.
